AtmoWorks proudly presents a brand new piece of work by renowned electronic music wizard Dean Richards of Disturbed Earth. Days Gone By is the story of the transformation and reworking of an album that Vir Unis had released over four years ago. This album is Henry Hud and was given to John’s (Vir Unis) son Henry on his first birthday, so this album is very special to us at AtmoWorks. Henry Hud, the album, was originally recorded on four track analog tape deck using guitar pedal delays and such, so the lo-fi and minimalist nature of the music was captured in a raw but pure form. Using this music as raw texture and footage to construct a parallel soundworld, Dean Richards builds upon the musical narrative that is Henry Hud and evolves it through the emotional resonance of time and the nostalgia of Days Gone By. This is a brilliant piece of work and we strongly recommend checking the previews out….

Following up on Drawn From the Well, which was the first collaboration between Vir Unis & Disturbed Earth, Entropic 1 is the first chapter in what is expected to be a novel sized body of work, a series of experiments in how music, or any art for that matter, evolves and de-evolves in a sort of sustained entropy before it reaches its final destination and becomes itself, a work of art. Fans of both of these artists will enjoy this experiment. Vir Unis uses clarinet, cymbals, rhodes piano, radios, tape machines, room noises, and amplifiers to create a holographic stereo field of found objects & musical instruments. Dean takes these textural works and loose array of hazy room recordings and molds them into an organized soundfield of shifting light, from bright to dark and back. This is exciting and interesting work for these musicians and students of sound. AtmoWorks is proud to announce it’s release….

Welcome to new AtmoWorks artist Rounder! We’re pleased to present his first album, “Prelude”.
Here’s what Rounder has to say about his new release, “Prelude”:
“For years I’ve been fascinated with the tale of man’s journey through time, wondering where things we do come from, whether it be from experience or from some collective memory spanning our time on this planet. Combining this with an interest in the concept of the habitation of Mars and a strong desire to understand ‘where things went wrong, in order to bring us to where we are today’, I decided to explore the subject with an album, “Prelude”.
Prelude is a solid first effort we know you’ll enjoy. Stay tuned for more to come from Rounder in the future!
Prelude artwork was done by the miKroNaught team of Vir Unis/MjDawn, and the album was produced and mastered by MjDawn.

“Safely, You & I” is the latest offering from ambient-electronic artist Vir Unis. This is one continuous track of music in ambient long form style clocking in at 30 minutes. It is a continuation of music first constructed in the spirit of “The Drift Inside” and “Aeonian Glow”. As Steve Roach put it about “The Drift Inside”, “there’s no groove in sight”, “Safely, You & I” is pure drift music and is connected to the very roots of Vir Unis’ long career in electronic music.

“Allogenes is a continuation of my previous Vir Unis album, Book of Mutations. Allogenes is the second book in this trilogy and is one long form piece clocking in at 19 minutes and 36 seconds….
….On a personal level, this music is about overcoming fear and finding the strength inside each of us. Rather than trying to define that experience for you, I invite each of you to find it yourself and enjoy the journey.”

Mere words cannot describe the excitement with which we welcome our latest addition to AtmoWorks, Max Corbacho. For many of us here, Max’s music has been an integral part of our ambient rotation for many years. His albums move like glaciers, pulse like a beating heart and have been among some the most consistently excellent music in the genre. His latest album, “Ars Lucis” is no exception, and we are thrilled to offer it here in digital format for the first time.
From the artists’ website:
“Like a weightless dream, the main theme is exposed in Light-Matrix Portal, where a gentle swirl of chords leads us, as a Gothic doorway, into a magnificent space. The main theme remains on all the pieces in a subtle way, spreading mystical, delicate scents through labyrinthine passages ascending and spiraling to the vaults. Max presents the album’s flow through different sonic zones sequentially, as if we proceed on a walking meditation through a 13th century cathedral.”
To consider “Ars Lucis” as merely a sequence of songs is to do it a great injustice. This is one of those rare albums where the whole is so much more than the sum of its parts. Each song is a chapter in an 80-minute story that transports the listener through the spiritual awakening that often accompanies the great holy places of the world. Max’s fine touch and deep affinity for progression and variation are on display at the highest level. Simply put, “Ars Lucis” sings.
This digital release contains an added bonus track, “Beyond Vaults” which could not be included in the CD release last year due to time constraints. Max Corbacho and AtmoWorks are proud to offer this extended edition of “Ars Lucis” to the general public for the first time.
We here at AtmoWorks couldn’t be more thrilled to have Max join our family of artists, and we look forward to many years of wondrous music to come.
